AJ is a multidisciplinary artist creating work primarily in clay. First and foremost they identify as a storyteller, using any medium that curiosity and functionality leads them to. Their functional work largely features motifs of nature and nostalgia, marrying images of flora and fauna from their childhood as well as things that fascinate them to this day. Excited by the softness of nature as well as the brutality, AJ’s work frequently plays with things that they are afraid of or made uncomfortable by, constantly challenging their own ideas around safety and coziness. Snakes and destructive beetles juxtaposed by silly situations and host plants respectively create balanced narratives, lending a softness to otherwise creepy crawlies.

When will my order ship?
As one small bean juggling many things it normally takes me 1-2 weeks to get orders out. If you need it sooner please reach out and and I'll let you know if that's possible!

What is your return/refund policy?
If your order arrives damaged, or gets lost in transit please let me know immediately. I will gladly offer a refund or exchange within 2 weeks of delivery. All sales are final outside of lost or damaged orders.

Why does my order look a lil different than the picture I saw on the website?
No two items that I make are exactly the same. I am a small batch ceramicist constantly tweaking ideas as I go along. Variance should be expected.

Are you taking wholesale or custom orders right now?
If you are a shop interested in carrying my goods please reach out to aj@rootsnknots.com. Current lead time for wholesale ordering is 45-60 days. I am not currently taking custom orders.
